• My son has had a great week... which means Daddy has had a pretty good week, himself. When he can go the day without a single extended crying jag, I feel better about the job I'm doing. I'm particularly fond of when Mommy gets home, and he smiles at me from her arms. That's my favorite.


• Spent the Wednesday after Father's Day making dinner for my parents and my step-brother. It was nice to have him over, and I just think my Dad and I are becoming better and better friends every day.


• Can someone please explain to me how a multi-thousand dollar fine and a requirement to return to your home country before you apply for your green card is amnesty? I don't get it.


• I need to do yardwork, but I just can't get motivated. Chopping up the rest of that tree did me in. I'll probably post pictures later.


• I really want to see Pirates 3, Fantastic Four 2, and Transformers. My inner dork weeps that we never get to the movies.


• I've almost got my Netherwing mount, and I'm borderline Revered with almost every Outlands race.


• The Dead Workers got third. While I agree the first place winner was worthy and deserved it, I'm dubious about second place.


• I need to build a firewood storage rack for all this pear wood. There were some great plans that used to be on the DIY Network website, but I can't find them anymore. I haven't built anything in a while.


• I've been being asked about Halloween a lot lately. I'm not sure how much longer I can go without hosting some kind of event.


• Wendy's the best. I wish you could see her with Duncan... it's like magic.

Better yet, someone explain to me why "amnesty" should be offered to someone who is not 1. a citizen and has 2. BROKEN THE LAW. If I broke the law I would be rotting in jail, and I have a US passport.

It depends on the law. Most people who break the law are given a fine... something like a couple thousand dollars. Our prison systems do not have the capacity to handle incarceration for all illegals, nor do I see the point in us picking up the tab for that kind of task. A fine seems logical... it punishes without costing us anything.

I still don't understand how anyone can possibly think that a fine is amnesty.

that's not what he was talking about, an ammendment was proposed to the now dead (thank god) bill that would have exempted illegal aliens with criminal (not just being illegal aliens) records from the path to citizenship, it wasn voted down

Valis, I know you love you some right-wing talking heads... but why on earth, other than trite misnamed ideas like "amnesty" and "leperosy-carriers", would YOU oppose a bill that fined illegal aliens, denied them social services, required employers to create a database to ensure their workers were legal, and increased security on the border?

um... there are laws against hiring illegal aliens, what's wrong with enforcing that law?

I don't disagree that the laws should be enforced. I've seen the laws enforced here in Huntsville.

My question is why you're opposed to the immigration reform bill that does the things I've listed above.

Pirates 3 was okay. Fantastic Four 2 just seemed kinda BLAH to me for some reason, but I still liked the overall movie.

I could give you an invite to a VERY PRIVATE site which would give you access to such things, but you have to swear to abide by the rules since your membership would reflect directly on me. Interested?

Xander has suddenly developed a complete intollerance of formula.
If I feed it to him, he will start cramping up, and will stay fussy for about 2 days. Just thought I would pass this along in case this happens to Duncan. Guess its time to go exclusively breastmilk for me.

Enjoyed the discussion... mind if I add... Seems like we have some things in common... age and new kids for example. I post a lot of photos mostly and stir up muck on debate for entertainment when I actually have time...

I was enlisted and very happy to no longer be enlisted...
