Last night, I forgot rule #1 of Baby Club: Sleep when the baby sleeps.

He was sleeping on my chest and I was flipping through the Tivo, finding stuff to watch now that we are home.

Needless to say, once we went to bed, he had to tell us all about his day.

No worries, the extreme fatigue, the not being able to drink enough coffee to keep your eyes open only lasts for ... ehhh ... forever :)

Nah seriously ... it's a few weeks (roughly 8) and then they'll have a day/night routine and will sleep for longer stretches.

is it bad of me, that when I read "Baby Club" the first picture in my mind was of seal pups?

it's kind of like being in a war. Never turn down an opportunity to eat or sleep. Because you don't know when the next such chance will come.

I've never been in the military, but I've always assumed there was less drool than on the baby front.

Yeah. I've learned to scarf down food in 5 minutes or less.

LOL
me too. I have to REALLY make an effort to actually slow down and taste food if I'm out for a non-kid meal. Otherwise it's just a matter of trying to bolt down enough to stay alive.

ah, the glamorous nature of parenthood...
