Man, I must seem BORING lately.
Aug. 15th, 2006 12:48 pmWhat's been up with me....
Well, the wife and I are going to see the doctor today. First doctor visit for baby Stitch. I suspect everything is perfectly fine. Wendy is running through a little more of the speculation spectrum. We'll find out facts today.
Work is stressful. When all your success depends on other people doing what you tell them to do, and nobody is doing it, then work becomes a lot harder. The owners are really stressed out right now with an upcoming move, and it's been hard to motivate them to help me. So I just have to wallow in my impotent lack of effectiveness till we can all get on the same page. It makes me dread work.
Warcraft has been fun. But Wendy and I have taken a little jaunt into another MMO... Toontown Online. It's silly, dorky, repetitive, and overly cute... but it's been entertaining as a side journey. There's a great deal of competitiveness on my part... I don't like her toon getting more stuff than mine. This little game probably won't keep me enthralled for too long. I still have to play City of Villains, dig into Oblivion a lot more, and poke around with Pirates (Which I got from my unborn child for my birthday!).
I haven't been taking many pictures lately, except on my phone. I suppose I should figure out how to upload those to my livejournal... but I'm being lazy. I also need to post wedding, honeymoon, Frolicon, and Bonnaroo pictures. I'm just a little unmotivated... I need to fix that.
So I'm thinking of building a giant computer desk to wind halfway our computer room. The goal is to build something that Wendy and I can share that includes shelves for scanners and printers, hides wiring and various computer periferals, and gives us display space for pictures, toys, and other nicknacks. I thought I might buy some laminate counterop and build shelves and drawers for it. I also delved into the idea of buying some prefab cabinetry rather than building anything. I can't help but think that it would look nicer, even if I don't get the experience of putting it together myself.

Something like this... but it goes around the next corner of the room in a similar manner.
Anyone have any experience in building custom computer desks that can offer some help?
