Our First Anniversary

Wendy and I celebrated our first anniversary last Sunday. To celebrate, we got out of our messy and disheveled home and visited Matt and Becky. We got married at their house one year ago and figured it would be a good place to anniverse. The place that catered our rehersal dinner is fabulous and just down the street, and since it would also be our first time leaving Duncan along without Mommy or Daddy, being less than a mile away from him seemed like a really good idea. Besides, Matt and Becky's place kicks ass.

Various pieces of the Dawson clan came to visit the wee boy.
Nana is hoping to be the favorite of another grandson.

Here's the three cousins, Dyer, Benjamin, and Duncan.

Since we have a baby boy, I foresee a small fortune spent on Thomas.

Dinner was Magnificent. We had baked brie stuffed with dried fruit and mascarpone,
a grilled pear salad with cashews and sesame vinaigrette, citrus marinated pork chops
with braised napa cabbage and a crawfish eggroll, and maple whiskey smoked salmon
with cheddar grits and spring veggies. Although the salmon was replaced by a fish
we were having too much fun to remember the name of. Man, I love that place.

The next day was beautiful. Keeping the wee man out of the sun was a drag, though.

Matt and Becky's dad were putting together Dyer's new playground.

I wanted to help, but I was worried I'd get in the way since they had been
working on it for two days already... heh.

Becky and Dyer spent the day swimmin'... although Dyer still hates to get his head wet.

I spent a little time watching the Harpeth roll past.

Duncan mostly just wanted to sleep on Daddy.

Becky tops off the fussy monster after a full round of bewbie.

He can almost completely hold his head up... he's like a little sittin' up man, he is!
It was a great weekend, and I am so lucky to have such a fabulous wife.
