Free TF2 Weekend This Weekend!

If you've ever wanted to try out Team Fortress 2, they are having a free weekend the 22nd through the 24th. The Heavy class just got some alternate weapons and they are promoting it.

It's well-worth trying out... we've managed to do 44 podcasts about the game.

It's a great map. I want to see more maps like that with triggered events.

I tried poking around in Hammer, though... and I don't know how these guys do it. Making a box with stone walls took me For-EVA.

Once again, I am forced to ask... How do you preload this if you cannot launch steam:// URLs (like the steam://preload/440 link on that page)? I have missed out on every free TF2 weekend so far because I cannot figure this out, and no one on any forum is helpful in the matter.

I have steam installed already. How do I preload TF2 from inside steam?

If you have steam running, it should run it when you click the link on the page I linked.

If that isn't the case, copy and paste the address from the link and put it in the browser in steam.

The browser in steam does not, as far as I can see, have an address bar to paste the link into. Am I missing something?

right-click on the steam icon in your system tray and select "Community" and it should take you to the steam community page. There is a browser in that.

Steam is a program, so you'll need to install it.

Go here: http://www.steampowered.com/v/index.php and click the link in the middle of the left.

It's actually a really good way to buy games online... I bought Audiosurf, Penny Arcade Adventures, and a few others that way.

What server do you play on? I've been playing the hell out of TF2 lately and mainly find myself on the iogaming 2fort map most of the time. user name is "Keel."

We have our own servers, but I haven't been playing much lately since I'm all Warhammered. But our podcast is called "Control Point" and you can find our servers by looking alphabetically around C. We're moving our website, or I'd forward you to the IPs.
