Date: 2002-11-08 01:39 pm (UTC)If you're doing the XP reinstall, I recommend using a Win 98 floppy to format and fdisk, then use the XP installer to convert it to NTFS.
There are custom XP boot disks floating around, if you need one, contact me via e-mail about where to obtain one.

Date: 2002-11-09 07:53 am (UTC)Filled EVERY ide hard drive in my system with '0' so as to obliterate the coding failure and cruft that caused my anger. Promptly re-installed Win95,NT4,SuSE Linux and proceeded to avenge the earlier disaster.
Sometimes, drastic and extreme solutions are called for :)
